This is the new china pattern I purchased this year, Sango's "Home for Christmas" from Replacements.com. I have other patterns with greens and red, but have always been searching for a pattern with PINK in it; Imagine that!! I'm really happy with it and it ties in perfectly to my Pink Christmas scheme!

I did it! I pulled off hosting my very 1st Christmas Cookie Exchange! It wound up being @20 girls who all brought 6 dozen cookies each.......YOU DO THE MATH! After feasting on amazing appetizers, mulled cider and PEPPERMINT PUNCH (see recipe below!!!!), we all gathered around the table with our take home containers, and filled them up with lots of beautifully decorated cookies. The displays the cookies were in were just stunning. Some girls decorated baskets, some decorated platters, and some made gorgeous packages to display them in. I was just OVERWHELMED at all the work that went into these! I gave out awards for BEST LOOKING COOKIE, BEST DISPLAY & MOST FESTIVE ATTIRE!! Everyone left with 6 dozen cookies and hopefully memories of a wonderful, festive and fun afternoon.
I'M STILL GETTING REQUESTS FOR MY "PEPPERMINT PUNCH" AMAZING!!
1 quart Edy's Peppermint Ice Cream
1 quart Egg Nog
48 oz. Ginger Ale
1 cup Rum
Stir all in Punch Bowl
Hang Candy Canes on Punch Bowl for decoration!

Can't beat that, so go over to www.tinyprints.com, create your own Christmas card, and save a ton of money! I know we all cringe at the high cost of shipping, so now you'll have more to spend on a loved one :)

OK, gotta get to work with finishing up my Christmas Deocrating! This past summer I changed my living room and dining room colors and had them painted in a "buttery" yellow and a pale shade of blue. I find the paler shades to have much more of a "cottage feel". Due to the color changes, I've pretty much eliminated all my christmas decorations that are red and green; which was pretty much everything!! Anyway, Ms. Martha Stewart has a BEAUTIFUL line of ornaments and decorations in pinks, silvers, pale blues and lavenders.........SOOO PRETTY!! I pretty much bought the store out and I must say, everything looks pretty darn good! I'll post some pictures of my "creations" next blog! I'm trying to get it all done before my upcoming Christmas Cookie Exchange next Sunday. (I'm a nervous wreck....) Enjoy you Sunday Girls!

I haven't done any "blogging" since Thanksgiving because I've been very preoccupied with my Mom's impending Skin Cancer diagnosis........The biopsy results came back and "Not Good". I found out the results this morning from my Mom and like everything else, she made light of the situation so I wouldn't worry. She said she will be operated on Jan. 13, 09 (my son Ryan's birthday) and it will be @ a 5 hour operation. She said she doesn't want me or my sister Julie to go with her, but she's crazy; we wouldn't be anywhere else and will be there for moral support for my Dad, her hubby of 46 years! They've been together since my Mom was 14 and my Day was 15!! Still 2 Lovebirds!!!! Today was also a JOYFUL day as we were all together for my baby nephew Sean's baptism. My Mom, as usual, looked just beautiful and being with her whole family and all her grandchildren makes her the happiest! It was a beautiful christening and I feel blessed we were all together!!!
